Pick the Problem You Need to Solve

What PoE Do I Have?

Simply plug the top port of your NC-200 into a PoE switch or injector to see what kind of PoE you have available at that port.  It will negotiate the highest power possible:

  • IEEE 802.3af – PoE – 12 watts
  • IEEE 802.3at – PoE+ – 25 watts
  • IEEE 802.3bt – PoE++ – 72 watts

We tell you what power to expect, not just type, profile, and class.

What PoE Do I Need?

Plug the bottom port of our NC-200 into your end device to see what kind of PoE it requires.  It negotiates the end device separately and will tell you if there’s an issue with the PoE you have and the PoE you need.

Plug it in, see the power draw, and see if you’re causing an Overload condition.

Why Does My Device Drop Off-line in the Middle of the Night?

Once you’ve plugged your NC-200 into a PoE port and into an end device, it starts tracking the last time the end device disconnects and reconnects, storing the previous 7 connections.  If your device is dropping offline, you can know at a glance if your PoE port is shutting off, if your end device is cycling, when it happens, and how much power it was drawing.  Quickly answer when and why your device shuts down unexpectedly.

I Need to Prove My PoE Device Works Fine

So often you have to prove that the PoE device you’ve installed is working fine if it has the right PoE from the PoE switch or injector.  You can turn your NC-200 into its own PoE injector and configure the PoE you need while still connected to the client’s switch.  If your device needs IEEE 802.3bt, simply configure it for that, and show your device operating as expected.

How Much DC Power Does This Need?

Plug a 5.5×2.1 DC power jack into the top port of your NC-200, and see what it can deliver.  Then, plug the bottom 5.5×2.1 DC power jack on the bottom into your end device and watch how much power it draws live.  Never guess whether it’s “getting enough power”.

Is the Cable - Too Long - Damaged - Terminated Poorly?

Connect the NC-200 at the other end of the cable from your PoE switch and let it measure the voltage drop under load.  It will tell you whether the voltage drop goes below standard so you know whether the cable passes a continuity test but won’t actually work under load.
