QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • If you have a separate 48vdc power supply that can push out 48vdc at 200 watts. Are the ports blocked to 30watts per port? Or what you put in is what it puts out.

Each port will pass through power based on how much is drawn by the connected devices up to the maximum amps per port. The maximum amps per port on this device is 650 mA or when in use with the Y-cable, 1.25 A. So, with a 48 volt power supply you would get a maximum of 31.2 watts on the port, or with use of the Y-cable a maximum of 60 watts on the port. You do need to make sure that the total power draw of the PoE devices connected to the injector would be within 200 watts in this case.

  • Will this, as shipped, support 802.3af and 802.3at devices simultaneously? I'm currently adding my first 802.3at device, and would like to have all 6 devices I have plugged into this, as I swap each one out the individual port will auto sense/switch from af to at.

Great question! The GPOE-6AB-48V120W is compatible with 802.3af/at power (30W port max with 48V) but it does not negotiate. The overall power budget is also 120w. If any of your devices require auto-negotiation, we recommend the AT-8-56v120w for an active injector.
