PoE Detector for Quick Identification of Power over Ethernet
A must-have companion for IT pro's: So you find yourself installing a camera or Wifi Access Point that will just not power up. If only you could quickly determine whether the PoE port was working, whether the camera was working, or whether it was a compatibility issue. Just by flipping the switch the PoE Port Activator will power on any IEEE 802.3af (PoE) port on a switch and pass that power down on the Mode B pairs. What's Mode B? This becomes a Passive Power device so only use with PoE Devices.
Portable and Simple Ruggedly built without any batteries, this handy tool fits in your hand or can sit inline and can sit at the bottom of your tool box for years until you need to check a port. Two LED lights indicate the status once you flip the switch to on:
Yellow: Power incoming on the Male RJ-45
Green: Power available on the Female RJ-45 in passive mode (power is always on) on pins 4/5 and 7/8.
